Schedule is 6am-2:30 Monday through Friday.
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Vehicle Mechanic to join our team. This position is ideal for a mechanically skilled professional with experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and heavy-duty equipment.
The Heavy Duty Vehicle Mechanic will perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and component replacement while helping ensure vehicles are operating safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical issues by reviewing work orders and inspecting vehicle performance
- Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections
- Assist with annual DOT maintenance inspections
- Diagnose, repair, and replace vehicle components including:
- Brakes
- Suspension systems
- Drivetrains
- Steering systems
- HVAC systems
- Air ride systems
- Service lubrication, cooling, exhaust, air, and hydraulic systems
- Inspect, adjust, repair, and replace vehicle assemblies and components
- Troubleshoot diesel-powered vehicles and equipment
- Enter repair and work-order information into computer systems
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Perform additional mechanical duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of mechanical experience preferred
- Related technical training may substitute for a portion of experience
- Valid driver's license required
- Willingness to obtain a CDL after hire — training provided
- Diesel and heavy-duty vehicle repair experience strongly preferred
- Diagnostic and troubleshooting experience preferred
- Experience with Detroit Diesel 6V92 and Series 50 engines is a plus
- Must be comfortable using hand and power tools
- Must be able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
